Teaser Tuesdays (Jan. 3)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

 Without further expostulation or delay, Hester Prynne drained the cup, and at the motion of the man of skill, seated herself on the bed where the child was sleeping; while he drew the only chair with the room afforded, and took his own seat beside her.  She could not but tremble at these preparations, for she felt that-having now done all that humanity, or principle, or, if so it were, a refined cruelty, impelled him to do, for the relief of physical suffering-he was next to treat with her as the man whom she had most deeply and irreparably injured.

~p. 70, The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne

Great teaser! I have never read this. My teaser comes from a collection of short stories by L.M. Montgomery.

I have never read this book either. Not sure if I would like it. I guess I will have to wait for your review.

I've never read this book but it does sound intriguing, and I like the writing style.

Here's my Teaser.

It's a classic, but one that always infuriated me! That's a good choice for a teaser, though.

Thanks for stopping by my site!

Loved your teaser. I read The Scarlet Letter ages ago as a school assignment. I'll bet it would be more enjoyable to me now.

Can you believe I've never actually read this book and I was an English major in college?!

I love the classics, but haven't read this one. I visited Hawthorne's house in Massachusetts (well, we never went inside because they were closing!), but have been intrigued by the story and have always felt left out that I've never read it! I'm just going to have to.

Great teaser, very detailed. I haven't read this classic myself; perhaps I should get around to it one of these days xD Am a bit late to getting around to your blog, but thanks for dropping by mine last week!
